2025 – Lower the Dose™ | Folsom, California (Previously Capitol Endocrinology)
With decades of clinical experience and a deep commitment to true healing, Dr. Rangi offers more than treatment—she offers a new way forward. Through in-person and virtual care, she helps patients uncover the root causes of diabetes and chronic conditions, reduce reliance on medications, and restore energy and vitality.
Guided by her proprietary Healing Equation™ framework, she integrates precision diagnostics with lifestyle and hormone optimization. Her mission is not just to manage disease—but to prevent it, reverse it, and support lifelong health through education, mentorship, and clinical partnership.
2020 – COVID-19 Pandemic, Folsom, California
The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the devastating impact of chronic diseases, particularly diabetes and obesity. Witnessing firsthand how preventable conditions made patients more vulnerable, Dr. Rangi pivoted toward a more holistic approach—focusing on functional and lifestyle medicine.
Instead of simply prescribing more medications, she worked on uncovering root causes, peeling back layers of risk factors, and helping patients take control of their health through sustainable lifestyle changes.

2008 – Consultant, Private Practice. Established Capitol Endocrinology, Cameron Park, California
Transitioning into private practice, Dr. Rangi set out to offer state-of-the-art care in diabetes, endocrinology, and metabolism. Driven by the belief that medicine should be personal, she built a practice where patients felt heard, understood, and cared for like family.
She combined the latest advancements in medical science with a patient-centered approach, ensuring each individual received the best possible care.
2005 – Assistant Professor of Medicine, University of California, Davis, Sacramento, California
Dr. Rangi moved to California to be closer to family and enjoy better weather. She joined the University of California, Davis, as faculty, where she mentored students, treated patients, and deepened her expertise in endocrinology and metabolic health.
These years reinforced her belief that medicine should not just treat diseases but help people build lasting health.

2000 – Fellowship in Diabetes, Endocrinology & Metabolism at Wayne State University, Detroit, MI, after three years of residency in Internal Medicine
Dr. Rangi moved to the United States for better educational opportunities and began her medical training at Wayne State University. She completed three rigorous years of residency in Internal Medicine, followed by a fellowship in Diabetes, Endocrinology, and Metabolism.
Stepping into a new country, culture, and medical system, she embraced the challenges with resilience and purpose. These formative years shaped her clinical expertise and reinforced her core values—compassion, integrity, and excellence in patient care.
1990 – Joined Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi, India
Dr. Rangi began her medical journey at Lady Hardinge Medical College, taking the first step toward fulfilling her father’s dream. While education provided the foundation, it was simplicity, discipline, and perseverance that truly shaped her path in medicine.
Growing up with limited resources instilled in her a deep appreciation for hard work, and she was determined to make the most of every opportunity.

1971 – Born in Rajasthan, India
Father martyred in the 1971 India-Pakistan War
Dr. Rangi was born in Ganganagar, Rajasthan, and raised in Pilani. Her father, a soldier in the Indian Army, was martyred in the 1971 India–Pakistan War. Though she never met him, his handwritten wish—that his daughter become a doctor—was discovered in his diary and became a guiding force in her life.
Her mother, widowed at just 27, raised three children with strength and unwavering resilience, ensuring they received both an education and the values needed to build meaningful lives.

Transforming
Lives Through Education And Advocacy
Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of mentoring future healthcare leaders, advocating for diabetes prevention at the state level, and speaking on global stages.
Whether in the clinic, classroom, or on stage, my mission is the same: to equip individuals and communities with the knowledge and tools to reverse disease, reclaim vitality, and live with purpose.
Education isn’t just a part of my work—it’s the catalyst for true transformation. When people understand their bodies and feel empowered to act, lasting change becomes possible.
Beyond
The Clinic
One of Dr. Rangi’s greatest joys is supporting education at Mata Sahib Kaur Public School—a rural school founded by her father-in-law in Punjab in 2000. What began as his dream has become a legacy of opportunity for hundreds of students, and she is honored to help carry that mission forward.
She finds deep restoration in nature and music—whether driving along Highway 1, hiking in the Sierras, listening to Sufi melodies with her husband, or exploring the mindful craft of viticulture and winemaking. These soulful experiences reconnect her with clarity, creativity, and presence.
But her deepest passion lies in the inner journey—cultivating awareness through personal growth, open-eyed meditation, and the grounding practices of yoga.
These tools have transformed her own health and now form the spiritual and scientific foundation of the Lower the Dose™ approach she shares with others.
